Chris Evans is sharing some old behind-the-scenes training videos, and we’re suddenly super nostalgic for Captain America
If Steve Rogers (the Avenger formerly known Captain America) dies in Avengers: Infinity War, at least we’ll know he went down fighting. Whether our beloved now-bearded Captain America bites the dust in Infinity War or survives long enough to make it to the fourth Avengers movie, our time with Chris Evans as the superhero is coming to a close.
In a recent New York Times profile, the actor confirmed that after his contract with Marvel is up, he’ll be hanging up his shield for good. While we’re not saying Cap is *definitely* going to die in Infinity War — although he currently ranks pretty high on the death prediction list alongside Tony Stark, Loki, and Vision — Evans’ recent burst of nostalgia certainly isn’t helping quell the rumors.
To celebrate the impending release of Infinity War, Evans turned back the clock for a Marvel edition of #ThrowbackThursday, posting behind-the-scenes videos from his time as Captain America.
But since everything about Infinity War is more classified than the nuclear codes — well, probably even more so, now — Evans didn’t even try to risk the Russo brothers and Kevin Feige sending the goon squad after him. Instead he threw it back even further to the Winter Soldier days.
The actor shared a series of behind-the-scenes rehearsal videos featuring the actor and numerous stuntmen working through the elevator fight sequence.

In the scene, Cap is ambushed in a S.H.I.E.L.D. elevator by Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo) and a group of S.T.R.I.K.E. agents – but because he’s Captain America, he’s ready for battle and doesn’t even care that it’s a ten-on-one fight. It’s really cool and obviously Cap comes out on top.

We’re always impressed by the technical skill you *obviously* need to do a fight sequence, but watching the behind-the-scenes training and then the actual scene from the film in just mind-blowing.
We *seriously* hope Chris is just trying to tease Infinity War without going all Tom Holland (or Mark Ruffalo) on us and not feeling a little sentimental about Cap’s impending doom in Infinity War.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4th April 27th.
