Chloe Moretz, Tilda Swinton, & Dakota Johnson are staring in a horror film and can we watch this now?!

Hello, dream team. Variety has just announced that there will be a remake of the horror film Suspiria. It’ll be directed by Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash) and financed by Amazon (Transparent, Boschand is slated to start production in October. The original film came out in 1977, and is kind of a classic, the title being Latin for “sighs.”

We’re most excited for the most recent announcement, however — Chloe Moretz, Tilda Swinton, and Dakota Johnson are on deck to star. Aka the girl gang of our DREAMS.

The Suspiria remake promises to be creepy as all hell, and is described in Variety’s write-up as a “passion project” for Luca Guadagnino. Passion projects are always worth looking forward to, because they’re treated with such care. Especially in an industry that increasingly remakes and retools things solely for financial gain (or to hold onto the rights, like with the endless Spiderman remakes), it’s nice to hear that somebody is genuinely devoted to a project.

The original Suspiria "follows a young ballet dancer who travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it is a front for something far more sinister and supernatural amidst a series of increasingly grisly murders."

So, like, haunted art academy, anybody? Sign us up. If only this were coming out in October instead of merely starting production — we could really use another horror movie to add to our ever-growing list of scary films to celebrate the month of Halloween… er, we mean October.
