Chipotle’s Earth Day deal is too good to pass up
The one thing we love as much as doing right by the Earth is eating Chipotle. And honestly, the two can go hand-in-hand. Not only does the Mexican fast food chain support local farmers and use responsibly sourced foods, but as of April 9th, Chipotle will now strive to divert half of its restaurant waste from landfills by 2020. Right on, Chipotle! With a mission to work with the Earth and not against it, its no surprise that there is going to be a Chipotle Earth Day deal on Sunday, April 22nd. We hope you’re hungry, people.
For Earth Day, participating Chipotle locations will offer customers a buy one, get one deal when they show their reusable shopping bag or water bottle to the cashier.
That’s right — you can score a second free burrito, taco, salad, or bowl (after buying one of the items listed) just by proving you’re chipping in to reduce plastic waste. This Chipotle deal will last from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to local Las Vegas Fox News affiliate KVVU-TV.
As of today, April 20th, this deal is confirmed to be happening at Las Vegas and Bay Area Chipotle locations. We recommend you check in with your local Chipotle restaurant to make sure it’s participating.

Chipotle already has plans lined up to increase its waste diversion to 50% by 2020. The company will first initiate its Mindful Prep program in which Chipotle team members will be trained to prep food in a way that lessens waste.
The company will also adjust its services and food prep according to individual locations’ sales, thus cutting down on food being thrown away at the end of the day.
