It’s happening: Chewbacca Mom is getting TWO shows thanks to TLC

Has the end of your 2016 been void of holiday cheer? Are you more than a little bummed now that the days are shorter and the nights have grown cold?

Well perk up, because “Chewbacca Mom” Candace Payne is joining TLC, and no one radiates warmth, hope, and positivity quite like the woman whose innocent Facebook Live freakout over a toy she bought at Kohl’s received 164 million views.

Payne announced the news with — what else? — a video, in which she reveals that she’s heading to TLC’s digital platform as a video blogger. She’ll star in two shows for TLCMe, 2 Truths & A Lie with Candace and Sing-a-long with Candace.

In the first, she’ll tell three elaborate stories, and her fans will be invited to guess which is a lie in the Facebook comments for the post. In the second, she’ll sing an original song using crowdsourced lyrics from those same fans.

The fun will begin on December 19th, meaning fans needing a dose of Payne’s infectious laugh just felt Christmas come a little bit early.

For Payne herself, the seven-ish months since she filmed the innocuous video have all been a holiday of sorts. She’s joined James Corden (and J.J. Abrams!) on his way to work, taken a trip to Disney World, met the “real” Chewbacca Peter Mayhew, became an action figure … and reportedly raked in some serious cash. According to Money, in the weeks following her video’s explosive May debut alone Payne received $420,000 in Kohl’s gift cards, vacation funds, college scholarships for her kids, and more. And that report came out in June.

“We are thrilled to have Candace join the TLCme family. Her fun personality and endless creativity is exactly what the brand is all about,” Scott Lewers, SVP of Multiplatform Programming & Digital Media at TLC, said in a statement send to Mashable. “We hope that by teaming up to create original content, we’re able to share Candace’s infectious energy, encourage conversation and be a bright spot in people’s news feeds.”

So yeah, it’s official — if you want to end your 2016 on a high note, spend it online with a woman who is having the best year of her life.
