Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and more recite Cher’s iconic “Clueless” speech and we are totally buggin’

In the latest episode of W Casting Call with Lynn Hirschberg, actors Adam Driver, Andrew Garfield, Alden Ehrenreich, and Lucas Hedges recite the most important speech of the ’90s you probably totally forgot about. No, the speech wasn’t originally given by President Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, or Madonna. It was recited by Cher. No, not the “If I could turn back time Cher.”

Cher from Clueless...aka Alicia Silverstone.

In case you don’t remember, the speech was given by Cher in front of her classmates and teacher Mr. Hall. In it, she discussed the “Haiti-an” refugees and how “It does not say RSVP on the Statue of Liberty.”

It was a solid performance.

The moment from the 1995 film has recently resurfaced online following the implementation of Donald Trump’s Muslim ban, which is likely why the actors were asked to carry out their own version of the speech for W Magazine.

All four guys read the speech as if they were auditioning for Clueless, and it’s incredibly entertaining. They fully got into character — or a least as much as they could for, you know, being dudes.

By the way, Hedges was born two years AFTER the movie was released. Just a little side note to make you feel old. You’re welcome.

Here’s the hilarious clip:

And here’s Cher’s speech, just because.

It’s pretty crazy (to put it lightly) that we can relate such a ridiculous speech to a situation that’s actually going on in our country right now. But where there’s darkness, we have to find the light somewhere.
