Chelsea Handler’s dog Tammy died, and we’re sending her all the love

They say dogs are a man’s best friend, but they’re a woman’s best friend, too. Chelsea Handler’s dog Tammy died, reported Entertainment Tonight, and we’re sending her all the love. Handler posted about it on social media on August 11th, and we still tear up rereading her Instagram posts. Part of her tribute to Tammy included this line:

“…Anyone who doesn't believe a dog changes your life has never rescued one…

We definitely hear that, and definitely empathize with Handler. Sadly, a lot of celebrities’ dogs have passed away lately, from Tom Hardy’s dog to Jessica Alba’s adorable pug. And we also can’t forget about how one of Queen Elizabeth’s corgis died last October. Whether you have a dog of your own or are a dog fan in general, you can probably relate to how dogs become our best friends.

Now, you may want to grab some tissues as you look at Handler’s Insta post announcing Tammy’s death.

Are you in tears, too?! And here are Handler and Tammy in happier times.

We love that Tammy was by Handler’s side on this day, too: #StandWithPP.

Tammy liked hanging out with Handler, period, whether it was above at work or below at home.

Just this past week, Handler had posted this photo of Tammy, where it seemed like she was getting better…

Tammy also had her own Insta account, where she’d just thanked everyone for their concern about her health.

Of course, people also knew about her from her appearances on Handler’s show.

Tammy liked dressing up for important occasions, too.

Tammy also leaves behind Handler’s other dog, her dog BFF, Chunk.

And this picture is ~everything~.

We also couldn’t agree more with this sentiment and Handler’s caption.

Chelsea Handler, we’re thinking of you, and are sending all our love your way. And Tammy, you will certainly be missed, and we hope you rest in peace.
