Doing ~this~ to your cheap wine will actually make it taste expensive
When it comes to wine, there’s an old saying that goes something like, “Any wine is good wine!” Err — actually, maybe that’s just our motto! It’s kind of like pizza: even if it’s not that great, it’s still pretty good.
Plus, spending more than $10 on a bottle of wine is actually a pretty rare thing for millennials. Once you get into double-digit prices, you’re faced with a dilemma: do you splurge and get something that’ll go down ~velvety smooth~ or just kind of deal with the bottom shelf selection and hope for the best?
Well, thanks to this little wine hack, you’ll be able to take your favorite $4 bottle (or box or whatever you like!) and make it taste like you spent an arm and a leg on it!
According to life hack expert (that's a really cool job title TBH) Dan Marshall, all you have to do is pour your wine in a blender and whiz it around for 30 seconds and voila! Your cheap bottle of wine will taste like an expensive vintage in less than a minute.
The blender basically serves as a quick decanter and aerates the wine, which as we all know, improves the flavor tremendously. According to vineyard owner Marcy Roth, “[Decanting] opens up the wine and aerates it, allowing more of the flavor and aromas to come forth and to show their most finessed polish side.” It also softens tannins, which can make wine taste dry.
Alright, time to put this life hack to the test!
