Charlize Theron opened up about “why I’m single,” and girl, same

Tinder is great and everything…but meeting people online can sometimes just feel, well, weird. During her recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Charlize Theron opened up about her two kids and how it takes a “village” to help her raise them as a single mom. They also chatted about dating (can’t do an interview with Ellen without dating gossip!) and how Chelsea Handler has been encouraging Theron to join a celebrity dating app.

But Theron has some reservations, which basically boil down to the fact that flirting online can feel “awkward.” According to the actress, lack of interest in modern dating methods is why she’s not dating.

"This is why I’m still single, she said. "I just like a good old friend hooking you up or introducing you. I’m so old school."

Hey, there’s nothing wrong with being old school. We totally feel you, girl!

Of course, both methods of meeting new people — both old and new school — have their merits (and their flaws).

via giphyIn the interview, Theron also talked about her two kids, Jackson and August (whom she adopted in 2012 and 2015), and how smitten they are with each other.

"I’m an only child, so I didn’t grow up with siblings and so I had no idea the beauty that siblings have with each other. Like it really is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever witnessed. To see how much they love each other and to see how much they’re excited to see each other. They’re so in love with each other, it’s really beautiful."

Awwwwwww! That is impossibly adorable. We’re grateful that Theron is letting us into her life, and it’s comforting to know that she struggles with dating too. We’re all in this together.
