Charlie Hunnam says he has a crush on David Beckham, and, like, same

We’ve all had a workplace crush, and it seems that being an actor in Hollywood doesn’t make you immune to the phenomena. In fact, while filming the upcoming movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Charlie Hunnam developed a crush on co-star David Beckham, and, like, DUH!

Rising to fame in the late ’90s and early ’00s after appearing in the British version of seminal gay TV show Queer as Folk, Hunnam has gone on to become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand leading men. The actor starred in Sons of Anarchy, and was originally lined up to play Christian Grey in the movie adaptations of the Fifty Shades books.

What’s more, Hunnam has been totally awesome with talking about what constitutes masculinity, and it’s pretty refreshing. Despite having a physique to rival Thor, the British-born actor told Elle Canada that he believes that being a man today means being in touch with your femininity and allowing yourself to be vulnerable.

And now Hunnam is opening up about what it was like to work with soccer legend David Beckham on King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and the actor has revealed he developed a bit of a crush.

Speaking to Mr Porter, Hunnam said that he totally got why people all over the world respect Beckham, noting that it was clear why he was such a success.

“[David] showed up determined to do a good job. He’d worked with a dialect coach, and maybe an acting coach,” he said. “I sort of anticipated, well, he’s a superstar. This is not his primary or even his secondary focus; this is just a bit of a giggle for him. But that work ethic just shone through.”

Continuing, the actor noted that he found Beckham to be “humble and kind and accessible” and “very endearing.” It was this, in fact, that led him to developing a bit of a crush on the star.

"I’m not a [soccer] man, so upfront, I didn’t really have a strong feeling one or way or another, he explained. “But by the time he left, I had a little bit of a crush on him. "He was pretty fucking cool."

Meanwhile, Beckham recently teased the pretty gross makeup that he had to wear while shooting King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

The father of four shared a picture on Instagram, and it’s pretty wild.

You can catch both Charlie Hunnam and David Beckham in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, which is expected for release on May 19.
