The new character posters for “Rogue One” remind us how beautifully diverse “Star Wars” is becoming

Guys, we’re only a couple months away now from the very first installment of the Star Wars Anthology Series, Rogue One and we couldn’t be more excited. We don’t know a TON about the story yet  and frankly we don’t REALLY want to because there’s nothing more thrilling than experiencing a Star Wars film fresh without spoilers – but we do know Rogue One takes place between Episodes III and IV (i.e. the last prequel and the first, original Star Wars movie), and it will follow the story of how the Rebels stole the Death Star plans – a pivotal event that was mentioned in the original Star Wars movie.

FYI, from Episode IV: A New Hope

After seeing t he official poster and the gorgeous, latest trailer for Rogue One, we were sold…immediately. And we also appreciate that the revitalized Star Wars franchise has been great so far with casting non-typical leads in THE MOST MAJORscience fiction film franchise ever. From the female and POC leads in The Force Awakens to the majority of the leading cast in Rogue One, we are loving this all.

Love, love, and love.

And now, because the Disney gods are good, we have these stunning Rogue One character posters that remind us how beautifully diverse the Star Wars universe is becoming.

First up, of course, is Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones).

We are seriously loving the cool detail of the Death Star plans looking like they’re being projected onto all these characters’ faces and we can’t wait for Rogue One to hit theaters on December 16th.
