Channing Tatum chooses roles for his daughter — not for money

Every movie star is different when it comes to how they decide which roles they’ll take. Some do it for the money, some for the exposure, and some do it purely because they love the character. Channing Tatum chooses his roles for his daughter, and his explanation is beautiful.

In an interview with EW, Tatum discussed his upcoming filmLogan Lucky, and explained that while he has chosen roles in the past based on financial gain, he now makes his decisions based on whether or not he’d be proud to be part of the film.

“I’ve done things where I thought they were going to be financially successful, and they failed, Tatum told EW. “For me, the only thing I can be super sure of at the end of the day is whether I’m proud that I made the movie, even if it never comes out.

Tatum figured out the driving factor behind his career choices four years ago when his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, gave birth to their daughter, Everly.

Everly totally changed the way Tatum makes his decisions about his career.

“When you start worrying about what the outcome is more than what you’re making, it’s really tough to make something that is pure, he said. “At the end of my life, when I have to look at my daughter in the face and go, ‘Daddy took time out of our lives, out of our relationship, to go do something,’ it better be worth it. It better not just be for money.

And that’s a beautiful thing.
