Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum are separating, so don’t bother trying to fall in love ever again
Today marks a devastating step down for true love. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum have just announced *sniff* that they are separating after almost nine years of marriage.
The former couple, who met on the set of their 2006 film Step Up, announced their separation in a joint statement via People, which they also posted to their social media accounts. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum began the statement acknowledging the awkwardness of having to tell the world about their breakup, adding that they wanted to break the news themselves during “a time where truth can easily get distorted into ‘alternative facts.’”
"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now," Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum wrote.
"There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan&Jenna.
Not gonna lie, we didn’t see this one coming at all — and we are truly so sad about it.
The couple was not only the poster pair for everyone who has ever wanted an on-screen couple to fall for one another IRL, but they genuinely seemed to be so in love. We’re sending a ton of love to the former couple and their four-year-old daughter Everly at this time.

At least we’ll always have Step Up.
