Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s daughter was NOT impressed with her parents’ performance in “Step Up”
We are HUGE fans of all things Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum, especially their movie-made romance turned IRL love story from 2006’s Step Up. That movie introduced us to the cutest couple with the best dance moves, and that opinion is shared by almost everyone except one person: their daughter, Everly Tatum.
In a recent interview with HuffPost, Dewan-Tatum revealed that her young daughter watched Step Up, which for her is basically the coolest “How I Met Your Mother” story of all time, and was unimpressed. Yes, UNIMPRESSED!
We’re as shocked as you are. Is it possible that the movie is just too good?
We can’t think of any reason for anybody, especially Jenna and Channing’s daughter, to dislike Step Up. Except, maybe, the fact that she’s only almost-four, maybe.
"It was so funny, we were like, ‘Everly, Everly, look! It’s mommy and daddy!’ At first she didn’t think it was us," Jenna told HuffPost. "She’s like, ‘That’s not you guys.’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s us, Evie, it’s me!’ And then she goes, ‘Can we watch something good?’ Just like that, and we were humbled. One day she’ll maybe appreciate it on a different level, but yeah, she’s not so into it."
Something GOOD?! Excuse us, Everly, but this is just about as good as it gets:
Never mind the killer choreography BOTH of your parents demonstrate!
Everly wasn’t the only one to judge her performance in the film, Jenna went on to say. “We both cringe because … we’re just so baby new ― our acting, we’re like, ‘What are we doing there?!’ It’s so sweet. We were talking about it the other day, like, ‘Do we remember that routine at the end?’ I think when it was the 10-year anniversary we did the lift outside in our yard just to prove that we could still do it!”
Yep, they’ve still got it!
While Everly might not be the best judge of her parents’ accomplishments at age three, it’s inevitable that one day she’ll appreciate the gorgeous love story between Tyler Gage and Nora Clark and Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum…aka her parents!
