Chance The Rapper gets a little help from a giant puppet in his new video for “Same Drugs”
No doubt about it, we love fun music videos. That’s why we’re so fond of the fact that Chance The Rapper’s “Same Drugs” video used a fun, giant puppet. Sure, it might not be Muppet quality, but it’s still pretty incredible.
The song is straight off of his Grammy nominated album Coloring Book —which is actuallythe first streaming album to ever get nominated. While we loved the song before it had a video attached to it, we now have an all-new appreciation for it.
Even cooler? Chance debuted the video through Facebook Live, which must have been an incredibly personal experience.
By showing how well he interacts with the puppet, it’s almost like he’s asking for a guest spot on Sesame Street. (We’re actually surprised he hasn’t been asked on yet, since it seems like he’d be a pretty fun fit!)
After you watch, be prepared to have the catchy song in your head all day.

Just released yesterday, the video already has well over 731k views at the moment, and is currently trending on YouTube.
But, let’s go back to the topic of Chance The Rapper entertaining children. You might not have known it (or may have simply forgotten about it) but the rapper actually covered the theme song to the PBS show Arthur back in 2014. With the help of fellow artists like Wyclef Jean and Jessie Ware, he put a beautiful new spin on a memorable classic.
It’s one of the reasons why we like Chance — he’s never afraid to unleash his fun, playful side. It definitely helps him create amazing songs and videos!
