Céline Dion covered Adele’s “Hello” on New Year’s Eve and took our breath away

How did Céline Dion ring in 2016? At her Las Vegas show at The Colosseum, of course. Those lucky enough to be in the audience witnessed a very special treat: She covered Adele’s “Hello” for everyone.

“So tonight, if I may, I would like Adele to be part of our New Year’s Eve,” she said to the crowd. They went absolutely wild, no doubt expecting Adele herself to walk out on stage. But and the singer immediately added, “So don’t panic, she’s not in the building.”

As Céline started fiddling with her microphone, acting like it wasn’t working, it was clear she had a little something up her sleeve—even if it wasn’t Adele in the flesh.

“Do we need to change the battery in my microphone? It kind of lost it a bit. Adele, hello? Hello?” she said into the microphone. Of course, there was nothing wrong with her microphone, but that was the perfect segue to what was coming up next: Céline covering “Hello.”

“Just for fun, okay?” she says before starting. And fun it was! Watch her surprise performance below. Basically, there’s no song that Céline Dion can’t sing. She puts her own signature spin on it and totally owns it!
