Celine Dion admits she’s finding it “very difficult” to move on after the loss of her husband
When you think of true love, surely a few couples come to mind. But somewhere at the top of the list should be Celine Dion and her late husband René Angélil. After being married for 21 years, Angélil passed away after battling throat cancer, and reportedly suffering from a fall. The couple had two twin boys together, along with an older son, René-Charles.
It’s been tough for Dion to not mention her loss in interviews. The two were together for such a long time, and the loss is still quite fresh in the singer’s mind.
Dion chatted with Bizarre’s Dan Wootton, who asked her if she was planning on looking for another love.
"Now it is definitely too soon for me. I am definitely in love with him, married to him," Celine said. "He's the love of my life. It's very difficult for me to see myself with another person...The love that I have for him, I live it every day."
Grab your tissues, since the beautiful words she shared about him are just beginning.
"As a woman, we do have emotions and feelings that come and go. And it's always with him...When I sing, it's with him. When I hug my kids, it's for him and it's with him. I took time to grieve and I'm still grieving," Dion later noted.
If you want to hug someone you love and squeeze them real tight right now, we totally get it.
We really do admire Dion’s dedication and love for Angélil. Not only does it prove that maintaining a high-profile relationship can be done, but it proves that you can find true love when you least expect it. After all, Angélil used to be Dion’s manager way back in the day.
We hope that Dion’s beautiful family continues to stay strong. Angélil will always be present in their actions, and in their hearts.
