Zooey Deschanel's Facebook series "Your Food's Roots" will lettuce learn more about food sustainability
Your Food’s Roots, the Facebook Watch series on food sustainability cultivated by HG’s very own Zooey Deschanel and ATTN Media, is a must-watch show for individuals seeking to reconnect with the food they consume. And what better time to examine healthier eating options than the week after over-indulging during a long Thanksgiving weekend?
Your Food’s Roots stems from The Farm Project, an initiative created by Zooey and her husband Jacob Pechenik, which seeks to bridge the gap between consumers and how their food is grown. The Farm Project emphasizes the ideal that individuals should understand where their food comes from. The project also introduced a new farming tool called Lettuce Grow (adorable pun attended), which promotes a simple way to grow healthy produce in your own backyard.

“Our aim is to shift our food consumption from industrially produced to sustainably sourced real food. Our motto is, ‘Know it or grow it.’ If you’re not growing your food, let’s at least ask and know where it comes from,” said Zooey in the first promo for The Farm Project.
About 61% of the foods we consume are highly processed from factories, according to the series promo, and Your Food’s Roots is working to change that in a series of informative episodes. In the promo, Zooey says:
