Will Smith is officially #DadGoals. Will Smith’s attitude towards raising his kids and Jaden Smith wearing skirts is beautiful. In an exclusive interview with BET, Smith discussed his thoughts on his children, the world and Jaden‘s gender-fluid fashion choices.

While promoting his new movie Collateral Beauty, Smith talked about the advice he would give other parents whose sons want to wear skirts.

His need to let his children have their freedom stems from wanting them to be happy in their own skin, just as they are.

Jayden has spoken out about his reasons for choosing to wear skirts in past interviews. In an exclusive interview with Nylon magazine he stated that he wore skirts so future generations would not find it odd for men to wear this type of attire.

“The world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do, and I’m going to keep not caring,” Jaden told Nylon Magazine in the cover story for its latest issue. “I’m going to keep doing the same things — I’m going to keep doing more things. I’m going to take most of the blows for my fellow MSFTS. So, you know, in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him. It just doesn’t matter. I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time.”

Whether you agree with the Smith’s parenting skills or not, we think that it is important that they have provided a space for their children to learn and grow without judgement!
