We just got an update on George Michael's cause of death, and there are still so many questions
Less than a week after we learned the tragic news that beloved singer-songwriter George Michael had passed away on Christmas Day, there are still more questions than answers surrounding the 53-year-old icon’s demise. And, the most recent update on George Michael’s cause of death states that answers likely won’t be available for at least several weeks. On December 30th, The Hollywood Reporter stated that police have ruled Michael’s autopsy “inconclusive.” The department shared the following statement with the Huffington Post:
In initial reports released on Christmas Day, British police described Michael’s death as “unexplained but not suspicious.” At the time, the singer’s publicist stated that Michael had apparently died from a heart attack — but the inconclusive autopsy indicates the cause of death may be more complicated than that.
As Michael’s fans grieve, beautiful tributes have poured in — including performances by Chris Martin at homeless shelters, which is especially fitting given the former Wham! singer’s dedication to a variety of charitable causes.
The star was a generous philanthropist, but he preferred that his acts of charity remain anonymous. In the days since his death, a number of people have come forward on social media to share stories about the many times Michael donated his time and money to those in need.
Regardless of his cause of death, Michael will go down in history as one of the most talented and generous artists of his generation.
