Troian Bellisario wore part of her wedding dress to the Golden Globes because who doesn't want to wear their wedding dress again?
For most people who get married, their wedding day looks are among the most special—and expensive—outfits they’ll ever wear. Which makes it all the sadder to see your stunning wedding dress collecting dust in a box in your closet for the rest of time. Because how many of us have a second reason to wear a wedding dress? So we must bow down to Troian Bellisario, who re-wore part of her wedding dress to the Golden Globes.
Bellisario recycled the stunning skirt from her gown to attend the awards show with her husband, Suits star Patrick Adams. The couple tied the knot back in 2016, but Bellisario truly found the perfect way to re-wear her wedding dress, adding the flowy silk and linen skirt to a pink and white crop top with spaghetti straps.
Bellisario posted an insanely relatable Instagram post after the Globes, sharing a photo of herself feeding Adams ice cream in their kitchen, both still in their glam red carpet looks. In her caption, she revealed that she “wore half my wedding dress,” adding that they were “home by 11. Eating ice cream. Happy.”
What a boss move by Troian, and a seriously genius way to rock such a gorgeous gown one more time. We are inspired.
And here’s a look at Bellisario’s dress from her actual wedding day, because it really was a bohemian dream.
The Pretty Little Liars alum had a solid reason for choosing her white Cortana gown. After the big day, she told Refinery29 that she “tried on way too many dresses”—also relatable!—adding, “I’m an incredibly indecisive person, and I didn’t want to wear a dress that I felt was wearing me. So I picked a simple, really beautiful design.”
We love that she figured out a way to give her dress a second moment in the sun, and we’re inspired to find ways to wear our own wedding dresses again. Sure, most of us won’t ever snag an invite to the Golden Globes, but who’s stopping us from rocking our gowns for a regular Wednesday night on the couch?
