Thanks to social media, cosplay (short for costume play) has found ways to reach a wide audience more than ever before, with cosplay fans young and old meeting up at conventions around the globe. And this 50-year-old mom’s cosplay skills are better than anyone half her age. Seriously — she’s winning the internet, one adorable costume at a time.

Hailing from Brazil, Solange (aka Tia sol, which translates to “Aunty sun”) makes the most incredible costumes for local cosplay events in her area. She says she fell into the world of elaborate character costumes after accompanying her daughter to cosplay events. Solange says a friend bet her she “wouldn’t have the guts” to attend in costume, and she ran with the challenge, creating an incredible Tweety Bird’s grandma costume.

She joked to BuzzFeed that while it started innocently enough, “I didn’t know that I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from going to the events.”

Tia sol says she never misses a local cosplay event in her city, adding, “I’d really like to visit other ones, but have you seen the price of the fares?” We feel you, girl — travel is expensive, but luckily for us, she takes plenty of photos of her elaborate costume and makeup looks, posting them to her Facebook page.

Though she loves Disney cosplay, she also rocks the hell out of other famous characters, from Power Rangers villain Rita Repulsa to the Dungeon Master from Dungeons and Dragons. Check out some of her most awesome recent looks:

Solange says she enjoys cosplay because it gives her the freedom to be in a “world of make-believe, where anything goes.”

Now that’s a message we can all get behind!
