Fans of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia probably know that Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney, who play Dee and Mac, are married in real life. Even better, they’ve got two sons! Mac and Sweet Dee started their romance in 2006, a year after the show started airing, and eventually got married in late September 2008.

Now, they’ve pretty much got it made. Olson just started up her second television show, The Mick, and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is in the midst of its 12th season. So, the couple probably had a really nice Valentine’s Day to celebrate, right?

Not exactly. Olson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and revealed her actual plans.

Someone in the audience booed right after this, and we totally get why.

At the time, Olson explained, she tried to play it cool and act like she didn’t care. But this technique can only stay strong for so long — and it’s hard to suppress feelings over an issue like this after a decade of being together.

So instead, Olson manages to get her Valentine’s Day glee out by planning activities with her sons, Axel and Leo.

And yes, as Kimmel asked, he’s not allowed to eat any of the heart-shaped pancakes that the trio might make on the day-of.

McElhenney also gets a “look” whenever romance is celebrated around them at the workplace.

So, while it’s not romantic, we’re so glad that Olson figured out a plan that worked best for her. Even if you hate the idea of romance, Valentine’s Day is definitely a fun day to celebrate with people you love.
