When we think of Christmas, we think of Mariah — and we just love the fact that she’s embracing her role as the queen of holiday pop. The title is probably why Seth Meyers decided to interview Mariah Carey via sleigh, since it probably just felt a bit more homey to the singer.

Okay, so that’s a stretch. But, yes — Meyers interviewed Carey on a sleigh, and it was magical.

As the self-described “Duke of Halloween,” Meyers asked Carey how she felt to be the “Queen of Christmas,” and Carey said that she felt like she couldn’t really take the title.

We mean, it’s huge — but since Carey puts on an amazing annual Christmas show, and has managed to make “All I Want For Christmas Is You” a fun listen year after year, it’s pretty well deserved.

Carey admits that “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is both the first Christmas song she’s ever written, as well as her favorite.

(If you haven’t heard it yet this season, *ahem* — enjoy.)

She also admitted that while she’s a tried-and-true New Yorker, she often spends Christmas in Aspen. Why?

So, yes. Carey really does create her own little Winter Wonderland every December. We didn’t expect anything different, but it’s totally good to confirm!

While Mariah Carey doesn’t “want a lot for Christmas,” she’s probably ecstatic over what she ended up getting — a tour with Lionel Richie set for next year. Playing 35 dates, we know that Carey is going to have an incredible start to the new year!
