Uh oh…it looks like Taylor Swift isn’t the only member of her squad dealing with some stuff right now.

Yesterday—the day after her 24th birthday—Selena Gomez posted a note on Instagram that says she felt “unauthentic” and “unconnected to both myself and my music.” She closed out the note by saying,

“I need to rethink some areas of my life creatively and personally.”

“I need to rethink some areas of my life creatively and personally.”

The message was posted after a performance in Jakarta. During the show, Selena got emotional right before her new song “Kill Em With Kindness,” and told the crowd:

“The next song, before I go home, is a song that’s so important to me, because I get really frustrated. I get stupid sometimes. I say things that I don’t mean, or that come out wrong, just because I care so badly.”

But Selena—what do you mean? Her cryptic messages might be referring to the recent Taylor Swift–Kimye feud, during which Selena stood up for her bestie on Twitter with some specific tweets that actually had surprisingly beautiful life advice:

Sounds like Selena’s been through a lot over the last week! But what does she mean by rethinking some areas of her life? We think she’s pretty wonderful the way she is so hopefully this won’t affect how much we get to enjoy her playful personality and her wonderful music.

We hope Selena finds the time she needs to work on everything she needs to deal with. There’s no doubt that being famous ain’t easy, but she does it with grace so she’s definitely earned any little break she may need.
