They began their friendship under Barney the Dinosaur’s wing and both grew up in the Disney Channel limelight. But Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato haven’t been photographed with each other for six years. Thankfully, at last night’s InStyle Awards, that all changed. Gomez and Lovato were reunited, and we feel so good.
E! News posted the historic photo on their Instagram to spread the word that the girls are back in town.
Gomez and Lovato have both achieved tremendous fame in the music industry. Lovato’s latest single, “Sorry Not Sorry,” just jumped to No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart, and Gomez’s latest release, “Fetish,” was one of the hottest songs this summer.
Although they’ve been through their ups and downs as BFFs, both stars have recently shared their support and love for each other’s work via social media.
Lovato also shared an Instagram post about her YouTube documentary, Demi Lovato Simply Complicated, to which Gomez commended Lovato for always staying “bold and real.”
It’s natural for childhood friends to drift apart and come back to one another later in life, as Gomez and Lovato seem to have done. We know we shouldn’t get our hopes up, but our fingers are crossed for a future musical collaboration from these two in the future.
Please, please, please.
