Well, this is refreshing to hear, Scarlett Johansson reveals being a working mother is very hard. She admits she’s “barely holding it together,” and we feel for ya girl.

While attending the amfAR New York Gala this week, Johansson brought her mother as her date and it was so cute. With her mom, Melanie Sloan, by her side, the Ghost in the Shell star opened up about how important her mom is to her.

“I really couldn’t think of anybody else that I’d rather [have] with me here tonight,” Johansson told Entertainment Tonight at the event. “[She’s] been incredibly inspiring for me in many, many ways, but certainly as a young girl.”

“She never shielded us from what was going on in the zeitgeist,” she continued. “She always made us aware, you know, socially aware. She always encouraged us to be politically and socially active, so I couldn’t imagine a better date tonight.”

In addition to gushing about her own mother, Johansson opened up about her struggles being a working mom, and it’s so real.

“I have a lot of huge admiration for working moms,” she added. “I’m barely, barely holding it together.”

Johansson’s honesty is SO refreshing, especially since being a mother is one of the hardest jobs of them all.
