Whether or not you were looking for another reason to get behind Scarlett Johansson (other than the fact that she’s impossibly talented), a brand new one has just landed in your lap!

This week Johansson teased a run for political office on Good Morning America, emphasizing her interest in local politics. But don’t get TOO excited just yet, because it sounds like a future goal.

Her daughter Rose is only two, so it makes sense that Johansson would wait until she’s a little older before she shifts gears into a new career (and one that’s arguably more demanding). Johansson has been strongly involved with politics for years and has proven herself to be a strong and inspiring public speaker, so we can definitely see this in her future.

She attended the Women’s March in Washington and even addressed the crowd about her support for crucial women’s organizations like Planned Parenthood (which she visited as a fifteen year old). If you didn’t see her speech, it’s incredibly powerful.

We also love that Johansson isn’t concerned with what people think, because we all know how easy it is to fall down that rabbit hole. She’s always honest and authentic, which is definitely part of her appeal. “I’m not afraid to say what I feel is right just because I think that I’m gonna face criticism or some people might not like me,” she said in the same interview.

We totally support whatever Johansson decides to do in life, and whether it’s actively in politics or simply using her public platform to be vocal about political and social issues, we’re on board! There can never be enough of that.
