Paris Jackson explained why she sometimes wants to leave public life — and why she won't
As hard as we try, it’s fairly impossible to imagine what it would be like to be Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson. She had a sheltered childhood growing up on his estate, and since his passing has been thrust into the spotlight in such an intense way.
So she’s dealing with pressures that most 18-year-olds can’t even fathom, let alone have experienced. But she’s taken it all in her stride and emerged as a grounded person who seizes opportunities to do good things. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she admitted that things could have gone the other way.
Okay, is it just us, or is this reminding you of anyone?
In case you need a refresher, here is our favorite (albeit fictional) role model, Princess Mia (the speech really gets going around 00:45):
And if you didn’t have time to watch:
See what we mean?
We absolutely love Paris’ attitude about fame and publicity, and applaud her realization that it can be channeled into serving the greater good. (And we also totally respect that she fully admits to not having everything all planned out just yet).
As excited as we are to see what she does in the future, we hope she’s able to enjoy being young in the meantime. You’re killing it Paris, and there’s no rush to make big moves.
