The legendary artist Bob Ross had so many things going for him: painting skills in spades, loads of animal friends, and one of the most amazing heads of hair that we’ve ever seen. His perfectly spherical curls achieve the kind of volume that we only dare to dream about. But guess what? It seems that Bob Ross-caliber hair can be achieved by others — but only if you share a gene pool with him.

Bob Ross’s son, Steve, has some of the most luscious locks that we’ve ever seen.

If you don’t believe us, just watch this episode of The Joy of Painting guest-starring Steve — who just happens to also be a fantastic artist, of course — for some next-level #hairgoals. (We know this isn’t breaking news, but we would be doing you a disservice if we didn’t bring this to your attention.)

You’ll notice that Steve is rocking a shoulder-length flow (complete with bangs, natch). We love that the style is all his own, but still pays a subtle tribute to his dad’s own amazing head of hair. Well done, Steve.

But there are obvious differences. Steve’s hair is more wavy than curly, and achieves Farrah Fawcett levels of feathering.

Yup, good hair definitely runs in the Ross family.

Pure follicular magic.
