Miley Cyrus explains why she'll never do a red carpet again
Miley Cyrus may be one of the most recognized names in Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be stepping on the red carpet any time soon. In an interview with Elle, the 23-year old “We Can’t Stop” singer actually explains why she’ll never pose for professional photographers on the carpet anytime soon.
“I had to do the [A Very Murray Christmas] premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again. Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’? That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit—it’s like Zoolander.”
We definitely see her point! Miley’s kept a pretty low profile the past year or so and has put a lot of focus on music and upcoming television gigs, her rekindled relationship with Liam Hemsworth, and her amazing work with The Happy Hippie Foundation, which “provides homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable youth populations with consistent support services, education and employment opportunities.”
Miley also opened up about why she spends so much time helping youth through The Happy Hippie Foundation: “That’s my thing [in real life]. For a long time, I couldn’t sleep because I just felt so guilty. I was covered in rashes because I was so stressed. Even today, I dropped my water on my hike and felt like such an a–hole. There are children being sold into sex slavery; how can I go on a hike right now? So now I try to do as much as I can through Happy Hippie.”
Le sigh. Just another reason we absolutely love Miley and her humble attitude!
