All the congrats: This "Mean Girls" star is engaged!
It’s summer and it truly feels like love is in the air, doesn’t it? Well, it certainly is for Daniel Franzese, who just got engaged!
Of course, Daniel is best known for his role of Damien in the iconic 2004 movie Mean Girls, and he more recently made a high profile comeback as the loveable HIV+ character Eddie in HBO’s Looking, which also starred Jonathan Groff.
Revealing the news to People, a rep for the actor confirmed that he and his partner, Joseph Bradley Phillips, who works in fashion marketing, got engaged at the Starbucks in North Hollywood, California, the exact spot where the pair first met. Aww this is just too sweet.
Here’s how it all went down:
When the pair arrived at the Starbucks and placed their orders, Daniel slipped the barista the ring. He had, in fact, visited the branch the day before to tell them all about his cute proposal plans.
When their order was up, the barista switched the cups to include one that included the ring and handed it to Joseph. SO. CUTE.
As People reported, Daniel then got on one knee and said, “Since I first saw you here, you have opened your heart to me, and I vow to God that for the rest of my life to honor and protect that heart if you will be my husband. Will you marry me?”
Oh goodness, our hearts are melting this is just to perfect.
The couple, who have been dating for over a year, have decided to keep Daniel’s last name of Franzese.
“Finding my soulmate has made all the years I struggled with myself worth it,” Daniel told People.
Taking to Twitter, Daniel said, “Love to all who have expressed joy for our engagement! We are beyond happy and so lifted. #loveislove” false
Well, doesn’t that just warm your heart. We’re practically in tears over here.
While no date is current set for the couple’s nuptials, we’re sure that the pair will be so happy together. Love wins, right?
In the meantime, you can catch Daniel in Looking: The Movie, which airs on HBO 23 July.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
