Let’s blame that New Year’s Eve snafu on 2016 — it’s now 2017,  and she’s ready to start fresh. Singer and reality star Mariah Carey will be performing on television for the first time since her less-than-stellar Rockin’ Eve performance, and we definitely think that she’s going to have an incredible comeback. Why? Because she’s Mariah Carey, and girl knows how to put on a show.

Set to air this Wednesday, Carey confirmed that she’ll be singing her song “I Don’t” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

She’s no stranger to the show, and again — she’s Mariah Carey — so the chances of her being nervous are pretty slim to none.

Of course, Carey has had a plethora of good things happen since that one not-so-great performance. Her show Mariah’s World is currently on air, she’s in a new relationship with dancer Bryan Tanaka, and she provided the voice of Mayor McCaskill in The Lego Batman Movie, which just came out in theaters.

So, while Carey really doesn’t have anything she needs to prove, it’s still great that she’s going out there and moving forward.

In fact, we still love the way she addressed the whole incident right after it went down.

Carey sent a tweet that simply said “Sh*t happened. Here’s to making more headlines in 2017,” and hey — she was absolutely right.

We can’t wait to hear her new single — and knowing Mariah Carey, we have a feeling she’s going to put on a pretty impressive performance.
