The seemingly best thing about being pregnant is that you get pretty much whatever you want all the time. It’s like society’s little way of saying, “No, you can’t have wine, but you can eat as many sammies as you want without judgement.” To be fair, you can eat whatever you want even when you’re not pregnant, but when you are, you literally need more calories. It’s not a terrible deal. But it also means you get some weird cravings, especially for foods that you might not normally eat. Recently, Laura Prepon had a “flashback” pregnancy craving and we have to admit, it sounds delicious.

Though it’s probably best that she doesn’t eat it every day on the regular. Prepon said on Live with Kelly and Ryan that her first pregnancy is making her crave the foods she ate as a kid. Prepon said that her dad used to take her all the time to get pastrami sandwiches, and she would wash them down with a Dr. Brown’s Black Cherry soda. Um, that sounds delicious.

The actress said, “I haven’t eaten that stuff in years, and since I’ve been pregnant I’ve been craving kind of like this Jewish deli food, with like the pickles and the sauerkraut and mustard. So we kind of delve into that.” Um, can we come with you and Ben Foster next time? We promise to go halfsies.

Laura Prepon’s first pregnancy has been quite the ride, she said.

This is the first time Prepon’s been expecting a baby, and she said it’s been overall an OK experience. The 37-year-old Orange is the New Black actress said, “It’s kind of weird because it sneaks up on you, you’re like ‘I can’t believe it’s been eight months already.’ ”But then you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, she needs to come out already.” That sounds about right.

The soon-to-be mom said, “But it’s so wonderful, it’s such a blessing. She likes it in here, she’s already kicking!” We can’t wait till Prepon’s daughter arrives. Hopefully, she’ll share her mom’s taste for pastrami and rye, because lunch dates are the best.
