Kristen Bell's aerial performance of "Up Where We Belong" was an epically hilarious fail
We know she’s got a great voice, but she’s not really at an ‘N Sync-level of aerial performance skills quite yet. That was made pretty obvious when Kristen Bell’s aerial performance of “Up Where We Belong” ended up in a mess of cords and confusion. Of course, since it’s Kristen Bell, she was incredibly funny during the entire gag.
Bell sang the duet with James Corden during The Late Late Show, and even with a solid intro of the two talking about how much they love love, it took a bit of a turn from there.
Watch Bell and Corden go higher and higher during the dreamy ballad.
Even though Bell obviously prepped for the big gag, we’re still pretty impressed by the way she kept her composure. She’s still flawlessly belting out the lyrics, even though she’s dangling in the air. It just proves she’s the ideal person to bring this funny idea to life!
In case you’re not familiar with the song (which, you totally should be — it’s a classic) it was originally sung by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, and released back in 1990. While their vocals are definitely incredible, we must say that Corden and Bell’s version is pretty phenomenal. Aerial stunts aside, they’re paying a solid tribute to the duo who made it famous!
This fun little skit definitely made our morning.
