At this point basically everyone is aware that reality star Kim Kardashian was tied up and robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room several weeks ago. The event sounded truly horrifying for Kardashian, as a mother, a wife, a daughter — and most importantly as a human being who went through something that no one should ever have to go through — no matter who they are.

Several friends and family members have spoken out in the wake of the incident. Model Chrissy Tiegen came to Kim’s defense after a ton of completely insensitive – and often just straight up mean — online comments were directed at her friend, and sister Khloe said that Kim “was not doing that well,” in a recent appearance on Ellen.

And now we have a new update, this time from Kim’s assistant and close friend, Stephanie Sheppard.

Sheppard posted a hand-written note on Kim’s website that read,

Basically, it sounds like Kim is going to continue to keep a low profile, but her site will continue to update with the help of friends and loved ones.

And in terms of how Kim is doing otherwise, Us tells us that her lawyers released the following statement:

While we’re so sorry that this happened to Kim (as again, being held up violently at gunpoint should never happen to anyone), we’re relieved to know she’s taking action against the people who did this to her.

Sending you all the love, Kim. And glad you’re taking some time for yourself right now.
