Jimmy Kimmel just showed the world what he thinks of that "Jimmy Kimmel Estrogen Hour" bench ad
Jimmy Kimmel directly addressed gun violence on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week in the wake of the horrific Las Vegas shooting. His response was a moving call to action and a plea for bette gun control laws. Las Vegas is Kimmel’s hometown, so he became emotional over the issue several times. Someone decided that Kimmel’s tears over the loss of 59 lives were worthy of mockery, however, and made up fake ads on benches for the “Jimmy Kimmel Estrogen Hour.” But Kimmel has faced this criticism before, regarding his plea for affordable healthcare following the birth of his son.
Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t that impressed by the mocking ads.
And a photo circulated of him giving his wordless response to them, shared by Kristen Bell on Twitter.
We’d watch these two pair up any day. Jimmy also addressed the response to his monologue with a tweet that included a link to donate to Everytown for Gun Safety.
If you missed it, Kimmel’s monologue called out our elected leaders for their failure to act on reasonable gun control legislation.
He even displayed a screen filled with the faces of every elected leader who took money from the gun lobby. He had these pointed words to say.
Jimmy’s not going to apologize for being moved to tears over tragedy, and it’s ridiculous to think that makes him worthy of mockery. We’re glad to see him standing up for things that are important, and not acting like men crying is something to be ashamed of.
