Back in 2014, Jennifer Lawrence was one of several celebrity women who fell victim to a photo hacking scandal in which their private nude photos were distributed globally.

It is heartbreaking to hear that Lawrence truly hasn’t recovered from the incident. We don’t blame her.

A month after it happened, Lawrence was still grappling with the fallout. She told Vanity Fair in 2014, “I was just so afraid. I didn’t know how this would affect my career.”

Now, nearly three years later and Lawrence still isn’t over it.

Lawrence says she lives in fear that every time her publicist calls her, it’s because something similar has happened again.

“It’s scary when you feel the whole world judges you,” Lawrence told the September issue of Vogue. “I think people saw [the hacking] for what it was, which was a sex crime, but that feeling, I haven’t been able to get rid of it. Having your privacy violated constantly isn’t a problem if you’re perfect. But if you’re human, it’s terrifying. When my publicist calls me, I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, what is it?’ Even when it’s nothing. I’m always waiting to get blindsided again.”

We hope Lawrence never has to experience anything like that ever again and hope that one day she can achieve the peace of mind she seeks.
