It’s absolutely true that you don’t see many Jennifer Lawrence fan selfies cropping up on social media. Lawrence seems to live as private a life as she can.

While we’re sure the Hunger Games-era plagued the actress with requests for selfies everywhere she went, Lawrence now says that she’s happy to talk to fans but she really can’t stay for a fan selfie.

We’re not even famous and we relate. Why would we ever want anyone taking a photo of our 6 a.m. red-eye face?

We also love that Lawrence is just straightforward about it. She doesn’t want unflattering photos of herself spread across the internet. Do you?

Lawrence isn’t the first actor to come out against selfies. Emma Watson recently said she won’t do it for safety reasons.

“If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters,” Watson told Vanity Fair. “They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with. I just can’t give that tracking data.”

Chris Pratt also recently revealed he’d rather give a handshake and share a conversation instead of a selfie.

“Because that’s not about enjoying the moment; it’s about stealing the moment to brag about later,” he explained to Cigar Aficionado via Entertainment Tonight. “So I say, ‘Would you settle for a handshake?’ And then they take the picture anyway.”

Regardless the reason, if a famous person doesn’t want to take a selfie with you, don’t take it personally.
