For those of us hard-core crushing on Jake Johnson (aka New Girl‘s Nick Miller), you’d think it’d be easy to spot his ruggedly gorgeous mug behind any new facial hair, costume, or disguise, right? Well, put his baby face underneath a mustache and he becomes almost unrecognizable.

After stumbling upon some photos from his press tour for Paper Heart back in 2009, I couldn’t believe I was looking at the man behind lovable man-child Nick Miller. I even did one of those cartoon-y eye rubs with both fists that’s often accompanied by a car-wash-like noise.

Yeah, that.

Anyway, the ‘stache in no way decreases Johnson’s beauty (duh), it just makes him look like a completely different person.

He reminds me a lot of David Krumholtz when he was a kid and starred as the boy who had a crush on Wednesday Addams in Addams Family Values.

Well, not quite that harsh, Wednesday, but still doubt-take inducing.

Who’s the cute guy in the cozy sweater? Oh, whoops. Hi Jake!

Luckily, his classic Nick Miller smirk gives him away here, but if not for that, I’d assume he’s a random dude and might have enough courage to awkwardly flirt with him.

But whether he’s donning a beard, light scruff, ‘stache, baby face, unibrow, wig, or hat, glasses, and thick accent as Julius Pepperwood, he’s still Jake Johnson. And still a total babe.
