Uh-oh! Did Daisy Ridley dye her skin yellow while filming "Star Wars: Episode VIII"?
Daisy Ridley isn’t only a badass as her Star Wars character Rey – she’s also an admirable warrior woman in real life. She works hard to achieve her goals, can hold her own when singing with someone as magical as Barbra Streisand, and she’s not afraid to open up about her illness with a refreshingly honest selfie. Now, with her latest Instagram video, Daisy has made us fall in love with her once more.
“So I’m having a slight nightmare because I Googled at-home remedies for skin and I may have been slightly liberal with the tumeric,” explained Ridley. “And now my hands are dyed yellow and I have filming tomorrow – ’cause you can hear I’ve been working really hard, I lost my voice.”
Daisy isn’t lying. In the video she shared with her 2.1 million followers, Daisy’s face is covered with a yellow face mask, one that appears to have quite a bit of turmeric mixed in. And yes, her hands are yellow-tinted as well. The only question left is: What is Daisy filming for?
“We do have filming tomorrow and it’s not for Minions 2. It is Star Wars: Episode VIII,” stated Daisy, chuckling. “So I’ll keep you posted, everyone, because this could either be a really bad thing or a really good thing. And I’m going to say it’s… a good thing.” Daisy then ends this statement with a terrified facial expression.
Keeping her promise, Daisy did keep us all posted in the caption of her video: “I scrubbed my face and I am YELLOW!” reported the actress. “Ahahahahaha. Will have to see if I’m a squeaky clean clear skinned goddess in the morning… #wishmeluck #forrealsfloraimsosorryifimstillyellowinthemorning #benmorrisyoutoo” In her hashtag, Daisy is referring to Flora Moody, Star Wars: Episode VIII‘s key makeup artist and key hair stylist. As for Ben Morris, he’s the visual effects supervisor. (So it seems that the yellow isn’t exactly removable.)
Let this be a lesson to us all: When it comes to turmeric, never overdo it.
