Now in his 18th NFL season and fresh off a record fifth Super Bowl win in February, 40-year-old New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is living proof that you’re only as old as you feel. Perhaps that’s why the ageless wonder and his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen sported a couple’s Halloween costume that shows the aging wonder is at least a millennial in spirit.

According to posts on the power couple’s respective Instagrams, the duo decided to do some trick or treating in their Brookline, MA neighborhood dressed as avocado toast. Brady played coy when the subject of Halloween came up during his postgame press conference after the Patriots’ 21-13 win over the LA Chargers on Sunday, telling reporters “I think my wife picked something out, so I don’t want to give it away.” But sure enough, the winningest quarterback of all time was dressed up as one half of what some would describe as the greatest breakfast of all time.

This isn’t the first time that Brady and the fatty stone fruit have made headlines together in recent times. Earlier this year, he revealed that avocado ice cream is one of the rare indulgences he allows himself in an otherwise incredibly ascetic diet. It’s all part of his “TB12 Method” of nutrition and preparation, which the future hall of fame quarterback hopes will allow him to play the most demanding position in professional sports until after he turns 45. While Brady’s beliefs that proper hydration prevents sunburns and that his “recovery sleepwear” line improves athletic performance might not pass scientific scrutiny, the monosaturated fat content in an avocado does seem to offer some legitimate nutritional value.

Despite the skepticism surrounding his approach, it’s refreshing to see that Tom Brady can seemingly poke fun at both his diet and the year’s most controversial breakfast item. At least between his wife’s fortune from modeling and his estimated career earnings of nearly $200 million, the two should have no trouble affording both avocado toast and a house.
