Jimmy Kimmel’s adorable baby son, Billy Kimmel, has been making headlines for all the right reasons these days. Not only is the 7-month-old doing great after a second heart surgery, but he’s arguably becoming the face of health care reform — in large part because his dad Jimmy has been using their family’s experience to advocate for affordable healthcare for all.

Billy was born with a heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia, a disorder that prevents his lungs from getting enough oxygen. Astute nurses noticed that Billy was a little purple when he was born, and after going through a series of tests, Billy underwent his first surgery at just three days old.

Back in May, the late-night host made headlines after sharing the news of his son’s condition, as well as making a heart-felt plea about the importance of Obamacare. “If your baby is going to die, it shouldn’t matter how much money you make,” he said during an emotional monologue following his son’s first surgery. “I think that’s something that whether you’re a Republican, or a Democrat, or something else, we can all agree on.”

Kimmel brought Billy to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage yesterday, December 11th, following his second heart surgery – and yes, we were all brought to tears. “I was out last week because this guy had heart surgery. But look, he’s fine, everybody,” Kimmel said as the audience cheered.

Little Billy looked healthy and happy considering what he’s been through. However, his health struggles aren’t over yet: Kimmel revealed Billy will undergo one more surgery in the future. In the meantime, the proud dad has been updating us on Billy’s health progress via social media. The cuteness is almost too much to handle.

If he doesn’t qualify for the Olympics, we’re sure he has a few comedic bones in his body, just like his dad.
