Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, and the other "Vanity Fair" cover stars revealed who they respect the most, and it's eye-opening
We’re totally loving Vanity Fair for bringing some of our favorite females together for the cover of their 2017 Hollywood Issue. Not only does this issue boast incredible photos by Annie Leibovitz, but Vanity Fair decided to put together some incredible content of our celebrities for their YouTube channel. In this particular video, Emma Stone and Natalie Portman discuss respect alongside the other ladies that they had the chance to share the spotlight with.
The issue, which has become a big deal for Vanity Fair fans throughout the years, is making headlines for all the right reasons. Besides Stone and Portman, it showcases talents like Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong’o, Janelle Monáe, and Elle Fanning.
It’s a good reminder that Hollywood has so many accomplished, influential young women who inspire us daily.
That said, it’s nice to know who inspires them. Here’s who they decided to namedrop:
We’re loving all of these answers, and feel empowered just by hearing them. For some of the women, their inspiration came from people who helped their careers throughout the way — for example, Elle Fanning and Emma Stone think of their ballet teacher and a theater owner, respectively, who helped them excel in the business.
For others, like Janelle Monáe, it’s other artists.
Of course, moms and dads get a lot of praise throughout the video as well. Dakota Johnson’s father, actor Don Johnson, even makes a brief cameo.
Aja Naomi King and Natalie Portman are definitely quick to mention their mothers, which is sweet — especially since Portman is about to welcome her second child with husband Benjamin Millepied.
This video was definitely pretty powerful — and kind of makes us want to call up our parents and give them a much-deserved thank you. You can check out the Hollywood Issue of Vanity Fair nationwide on newsstands February 7th.
