It’s officially fall, and we all know what that means for our wardrobes: Time to start dusting off the booties and airing out the sweaters that are soon going to be in heavy rotation.

But we’re always looking to mix things up, so when Brit + Co noticed the same fall-ready style on some of our fave celebs, we knew we had to take note of the new trend: Blouses with contrast piping.

Here’s how they wore them:

Chloë Grace Moretz opted for a Western-style shirt with a floral print and retro brown piping.

And Emma Roberts chose a ’70s-esque, dusty-toned paisley print with bold black piping.

So why are we gravitating so much to this trend? It’s as easy as throwing on a button-down, but with day-to-night appeal, thanks to its silky texture, psychedelic patterns, and bold colors. So you can wear it with jeans and flats (we’re thinking a great pair of penny loafers) during the day, then add a fun pair of heels and—poof!—you have a date-night outfit!

Another thing: The contrast-piping look is a fun spin on the pajama dressing trend that’s been around for a couple seasons now, and you know the lazy girls in us are NOT going to argue with an excuse to wear PJs out in public.

With all the fun colors, rich detailing, and throwback inspiration, this trend is totally primed for fall. Jeans, meet your new best friend.
