Elisabeth Moss said she’s “never said no” to anything she’s seen in a script, and we’re impressed
Actors sometimes get strange requests from writers and directors: Their characters should do this, wear that, or behave a certain way. However, Elisabeth Moss said she’s “never said no” to anything she’s seen in a script. That’s pretty huge.
We all know how much Moss’ characters have had to contend with — like Peggy Olson on Mad Men and Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale. But her “just say yes” policy has paid off so far. Moss is nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The Handmaid’s Tale. Not to mention her seven nominations from previous years. (Fingers crossed this is her year!)
So, where would Moss draw the line? What would finally make her say no?
“I look forward to somebody trying to finally give me something that I’m like ‘No, that’s too — I’m so sorry,’” she told NYLON. “I probably wouldn’t necessarily torture an animal or something. I’d draw the line at that. That’s my — as an animal lover, I think I would draw the line. But you never know!”
Of all her roles, past and present, which one is her favorite?
“It’s hard not to pick Offred because I’m still playing her — so it’s hard not to,” Moss continued. “When I was doing Peggy, that was most fulfilling; when I was doing Robin, that was the most fulfilling. I tend to be very involved and fulfilled by the current character that I’m playing. It’s not me being coy, there really isn’t a favorite.”
We agree with Moss — all her roles are our favorites, too! In the meantime, we’ll be rooting for her come September 17th, when the Emmys are on.
