Daniel Radcliffe talks about how hard it was to go on a date because of "Harry Potter"
I think we can all agree that being a non-famous person and dating is already pretty uncomfortable. You’re putting yourself out there, opening yourself up to the possibility of heartbreak, and sometimes the person across from you just isn’t what you’re seeking, or vise versa. But, as Daniel Radcliffe explains, dating can be even MORE awkward if you’re insanely famous.
In the latest installment of The Jess Cagle Interview, Daniel recalls the anxiety he felt going into his first real date due to his notoriety:
“I just went out with a cap on, and you have to hope that the person you’re dating is understanding and not made to feel awkward by someone coming up or anything like that, but you just do it.”
Agh! We can’t even imagine!
Daniel also talked about the public’s idea that famous kids can never have a normal childhood (whatever that is):
“That was always the weird thing. I think people always imagined that I didn’t have a childhood or I missed out on some stuff, and I’m sure I had a very different childhood, but all those first dates and first kisses, those rites of passage, I still had them, and they were actually generally really private. I don’t feel like I have to share them with the world, and I felt like they were really my own, which is nice.”
