Talk about a goddess beauty queen who can do no wrong. Charlize Theron wowed us all Thursday night when she walked down the red carpet in a gorgeous flowy black dress after gaining 35 pounds for a new role. It shouldn’t be a big deal or news that a woman gained weight for a job (or for any other reason), but we just love how Theron effortlessly exudes confidence no matter the number of pounds she is carrying. Skinny, fat, chubby, all are beautiful. Now that is definitely worthy of praise.

The actress was attending the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles to accept the Inspiration Award for her impressive work with her organization, The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project because of course.

Normally, Theron sports body-hugging, slinky dresses that we all wish we could rock, but she opted for chill chic and we love it so much. The gown Theron wore (and that we all want now) was a lace empire-waist Dior dress. She added a long black blazer and sparkly earrings to pull it all together. I mean just look at how perfect she looks.

Theron gained the weight for her upcoming movie, Tully, where she plays Marlo, a mom of three. But Theron wasn’t at the event to talk about fashion and film. She was there to make a case for helping those living with AIDS.

She continued, “It wasn’t long after I gave this speech talking about how we couldn’t forget the most vulnerable among us that I realized I had forgotten someone. I had forgotten to mention sex workers, some of the most stigmatized people in the world and felt terrible. Despite our best intentions, sometimes people are still falling through the cracks and too many are not being seen. We need big bold ideas to fight poverty [and] end discrimination in hard to reach places.”

Right on, Theron. We are right there with you!
