Jonathan Rhys Meyers' wife, Mara, posted a candid message about her recent miscarriage and her husband's relapse
Dealing with personal loss when one already suffers from depression and addiction is a tall order. And according to Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ wife, Mara Lane, the couple recently suffered a miscarriage and are still processing the pain.
Lane opened up to fans and followers via Instagram yesterday, explaining she and her husband’s current situation. They lost their second child on September 7th and the loss has taken a devastating toll on Meyers, who struggles with alcoholism.
It seems the news of the miscarriage caused Meyers to relapse into addiction, and Lane revealed that when they begin to make progress, “sometimes it’s like two steps forward, one step back.”
Lane also addressed the circulating paparazzi photos of Meyers being escorted out of Dublin Airport for being too intoxicated to board a flight. “I feel that whomever took photos of my husband was slightly in the wrong and was concerned for the wrong reasons but … it’s ok. It’s ok. Maybe you have/had a family to feed and need/needed money? I don’t know. We forgive you.”
Meyers is currently waiting for a spot to open at a detox center closer to home.
The couple had their first child, Wolf, in December 2016. And despite recent hardships, Lane expressed that life is still beautiful. She sent her love to those affected by natural disasters and asked that people not look down on others but instead lend a helping hand.
Such a candid message deserves much respect, and we’re sending our love to Meyers and Lane during this difficult time for their family.
