The world continues to mourn the loss of Carrie Fisher. We were all lucky enough to be entertained by her on so many levels and in so many ways. Seeing all the videos and memories that people are sharing of her helps remind us just how remarkable she really was.

And watching this video of Carrie Fisher playfully roasting George Lucas makes us miss her even more.

In 2005, George Lucas received the Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute. Such a major accomplishment deserves all sorts of accolades. And his friends and coworkers came out on droves. Including, of course, the one and only Princess Leia.

Carrie starts out her incredibly energetic performance in front of Hollywood’s biggest names perfectly.

She plays around with how long ago Star Wars was filmed, changing up the numbers to everybody’s enjoyment.

Then she admits how much she truly loves him, despite the costume decisions on Star Wars she pokes fun at.

After having everyone LOLing about whether or not there’s underwear in space, Carrie continued her heartfelt roast.

She ends her roast with an epic salute to an audience that is literally crying from laughter. It is a perfect mix of intelligence, wit, and cutting humor that Carrie will be greatly missed for.

She had previously given a speech for another of her Star Wars family in 2000, when Harrison Ford was awarded AFI’s Life Achievement Award.

Her speech to him was as humorous, playful, and mixed with all the adoration of her later speech to George Lucas. We truly lost an entertainment icon in the wonderful Carrie Fisher. But we are grateful for all her epic performances that will live on forever.
