It’s been a year since since Carrie Fisher died, but she certainly hasn’t been forgotten. The iconic Star Wars actress went into cardiac arrest while flying to Los Angeles and died four days later, on December 27th, 2016. To say the world was stunned is an understatement. Carrie wasn’t just the Princess Leia — her off-screen life was just as bold and dynamic. The actress was vocal about her struggles with mental illness and addiction. And her flare for humor remains unmatched.
On the anniversary of Fisher’s death, tributes started pouring in immediately. And with the recent premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Carrie’s final role, her legacy continues to live on.
Carrie’s adorable dog, Gary Fisher, who frequently appeared with her on press tours, perked up when he watched his mom on-screen. And the actress’s daughter, Billie Lourd, paid tribute to her mom at the Last Jedi premiere by rocking Princess Leia-inspired hair.
Billie’s tribute to Carrie continued this week on the one-year anniversary of her mom’s death.
Billie, who also appears in the Last Jedi, shared an emotional trip she made that held a special meaning to everyone’s favorite woman.
The beautiful image was finished off with, “I love you times infinity.”
We’re not crying, you are!
To further honor this amazing human, Carrie’s Star Wars co-star, Mark Hamill, shared a collage of images and a hilarious painting of his dear friend.
